Walmart Canada announced that it plans to invest more than C$500 million this year to refurbish its stores.
This is considered the largest yearly investment upgrade, with more than 60% of Walmart Canada’s stores benefiting from the plan. In July, the giant retailer announced plans to spend C$3.5 billion over five years to strengthen its e-commerce business.
During the pandemic, it is only right for Walmart to strengthen its e-commerce business. Currently, Canadian stores also offer delivery and pickup of any items to customers.
Walmart Canada said on Monday the plan was expected to create more than 2,000 construction jobs in Canada.
